so this is love, miraculous design
now that I’ve seen splendor
and I’ve tasted the divine
kindness, goodness and the rest
I have been blessed
I have everything I need
cause this is love
So this is love devastation at it’s best
delicious torture
there’s a war inside my chest
I am torn where I just stitched
My willing world is flipped
cause this is love
Always
I am thinking of you
you have occupied my mind
give you
all things in store, in sight
you inherited my life
cause this is love

At a fans request…Here is a demo of a song that I recorded as I was writing it. Quite rudimentary but it’s the only recording I have and without a piano there’s no satisfactory way to post a vid to youtube. Alas you get to - hear - inside my process. For this song it was a bit of a stream of conscious, confession of love.

I wrote this song in Brooklyn a while back with the incredible Eric Krasno and Adam Deitch AKA Fyre Dept. Look em up they are insane creatives. It started as a beat they put together and I wrote lyrics over then we played with melodies and stacked up the background vocals. I was influenced by some laid back styling I’ve heard from Prince, Janet Jackson, Erykah Badu and Sade.
The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, said:

“Man. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.”
